How to find a toilet fast in a city you don’t know
Practical tips for the moments when you really can’t wait.
It always happens at the worst moment: you’re somewhere new, the queue is long, and you need a toilet now. A little planning makes these moments much less stressful.
1. Use “I need a toilet now”
Open LooNavig and tap I need a toilet now. It sorts results by how quickly you can get there, not just by distance, and shows whether each place is open.
2. Check the access before you walk
Not every toilet is open to everyone. Each listing shows whether it’s public, for customers only, or needs a key or a fee. If you’re in a hurry, turn on Open now and look for public toilets first.
3. Know where toilets usually are
- Stations and transport hubs almost always have toilets, sometimes with a small charge.
- Shopping centres and department stores usually have free toilets on an upper floor.
- Libraries, museums and galleries often have clean, quiet facilities.
- Cafés and fast food restaurants often have toilets for customers, so buying a drink is the polite way in.
4. Plan ahead on long days out
Before a day of sightseeing, check the map for toilets along your route. Save a few options so you aren’t searching when it matters.
5. Help the next person
Found a great toilet, or one that was closed? Leave a quick review in the app. Your update helps everyone who comes after you.
