Days out with little ones: planning your toilet stops

Every parent knows the feeling: the moment you’re furthest from a toilet is the moment someone needs one. A few minutes of planning makes days out with children much calmer.

Filter for what you need

In LooNavig, turn on Baby changing to see toilets with changing facilities. The Family filters also include family rooms and pushchair access, so you know you can get in with everything you’re carrying.

Plan stops around your day

• Pick a couple of toilets near each place you’ll visit, not just one.
• Toilets in shopping centres, museums and large cafés are often the best equipped for families.
• On long drives, plan a stop every couple of hours at services or a town with good facilities.

Pack a small kit

Wipes, a spare change of clothes, a fold-up changing mat and hand sanitiser cover most surprises, even when the facilities aren’t what you hoped.
